The WTA Awards 2024 have recognized exceptional performances across various categories, with Aryna Sabalenka and Paula Badosa leading the honorees. Here are the highlights:

 

Player of the Year: Aryna Sabalenka

 

Aryna Sabalenka's stellar year earned her the prestigious Player of the Year title. She secured two Grand Slam victories, defending her Australian Open crown and clinching her first US Open. Reclaiming the World No. 1 spot, Sabalenka also added titles in Cincinnati and Wuhan, capping a phenomenal season.

 

Comeback Player of the Year: Paula Badosa

 

Spain’s Paula Badosa marked her return to form with the Comeback Player of the Year award. Overcoming back injuries, she climbed to World No. 12, with key achievements including a Washington title and semifinal runs in Cincinnati, Beijing, and Ningbo.

 

 

Doubles Team of the Year: Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini, who secured titles in Rome, Beijing, and Austria, along with Olympic gold.

 

Breakthrough Player of the Year: Lulu Sun, rising to World No. 40 after standout performances, including a Wimbledon quarterfinal finish.

 

Most Improved Player: Emma Navarro, who debuted in the top 10 following a title in Hobart and multiple semifinal appearances.

Fans’ Favourite Doubles Team: Bolelli and Vavassori

 

Italy’s Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori earned the Fans’ Favourite Doubles Team award. They claimed three tour-level titles and played a pivotal role in Italy’s Davis Cup victory.

 

Australian Tennis Awards: Alex de Minaur and Darren Cahill Shine

 

At the Australian Tennis Awards, Alex de Minaur and Matthew Ebden received the Newcombe Medal for their exceptional performances as Australia’s top players in 2024. Meanwhile, Darren Cahill was recognized for Coaching Excellence, guiding Jannik Sinner to World No. 1 and Grand Slam wins at the Australian Open and US Open.
