The concacaf futsal championship holds this year in Managua, Nicaragua and will run from April 13-20.
The opening match was played at the Polideportivo, Alexis Arguello in Managua, Nicaragua.
Below are the teams and their journeys so far in their various groups:
GROUP A:
MEXICO:
In their opening match Mexico thrashed Suriname 7-3 and defeated Haiti 9-4 in the second match but lost 4-2 to the reigning champions Costa Rica in their last game.
COSTA RICA:
The reigning champions had the biggest win of the opening matches as they defeated Haiti 8-3. They also defeated Suriname 3-1 and completed a flawless record at the group stage after they edged Mexico 4-2.
SURINAME:
After going down to Mexico in their opening match, they also los their second against Costa Rica but put four past Haiti (4-0) to end the group stage with 3 points.
HAITI:
After their loss to Costa Rica who are on their title defence journey, Haiti went on to lose the next two matches. They ended with 0 point, scoring 7 and conceding 21.
Costa Rica led Group A with 9 points, Mexico follows with 6 points, Suriname-3 points and Haiti 0 point.

GROUP B:
CANADA:
Cuba vs Canada was the only stalemate of the opening matches across all groups. They played 5-5. Canada lost their second match against Panama but won their third against Nicaragua to end with 4 points and secure a quarter-final spot.
CUBA:
After their stalemate against Canada, Cuba also played out another against hosts, Nicaragua but they defeated Panama in their last Game to get a valuable 3 points, ending the group stage with 5 points.
PANAMA:
Panama put on a wonderful display to defeat Nicaragua 6-3 and go top of Group B. they continued their impressive run as they defeated Canada 7-3 but lost 3-2 to Cuba in their final match.
NICARAGUA:
Despite their loss against Panama on the opening day, the hosts, Nicaragua played out a stalemate with Cuba on match day 2 and could only end with 1 point at the front of the home crowd as they lost 3-6 to Canada on the final day.
Panama tops with 6 points, Cuba had 5 points, Canada secured 4 points and Nicaragua ends with 1 point.

GROUP C:
U.S.A:
The United States futsal team started its campaign with a 7-4 victory over Trinidad and Tobago . They lost their second in a tight encounter against Dominican Republic. The two-time winners, U.S.A, who are deemed tournament favorites could only settle for draw against Guatemala. They actually secured a quarter-final spot after finishing as one of the best thirds.
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO:
They lost all three matches, scoring 8 and conceding 23 goals. They lost their opening match against United states (7-4), the next against Guatemala (5-3) and the last ended with a humiliating defeat at the hands of Dominican republic (11-1).
GUATEMALA:
They saw off Dominican republic 7-5 to go second on match day 1. They also defeated Trinidad and Tobago 5-3 to secure their second win. They ended as Group C leaders with 7 points after playing out a stalemate with the United States.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC:
After their defeat to Guatemala in the opening match, Dominican Republic defeated 20201 runner-up U.S.A . 7-6 in their second match and thrashed Trinidad and Tobago 11-1 to secure second spot in Group C and a quarter final spot.
At the group stage, 18 matches were played. Winners were decided in 15, while 3 matches ended in a stalemate- each on different match days.
