George Mican became the first NBA player to reach the 10,000 career points. Lebron James did his as the youngest and early this year, Donovan Mitchell the fastest to do so in just 410games.
Just last night, 3rd of August 2023, five-time Olympic basketball champion Diana Taurasi surpassed with 10,000 point and now holds the record of the first WBNA player in history to eclipse 10,000 career points.
In a game where she needed just 18points to reach the 10,000 mark, Taurasi who started is phoenix mercury 's 91-71 win over the Atlanta Dream scored 42 points, becoming the oldest player in WNBA History to score more than 40points in a game.
Considered to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Taurasi has won three FIBA world Cup, one WNBA, most valuable player Award (including three in a row) among others.
The female American basketball player now has a total of 10,024 career points and she has a chance to increase her tally when the phoenix mercury to take on Seattle storm on Saturday, 5th of August at 10pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
