The 2025 Volleyball World Championships is set to hold in 2025 and will feature 32 teams each for men and women. The tournament will be held in the Philippines for men and Thailand for women.
There is a different format used this time with automatic qualifications for the host countries and defending champions in both the men and women categories. While the other 30 teams are chosen from continental championships and FIVB rankings.
MEN'S TEAMS
Automatic Qualifiers: Italy (defending champions) and the Philippines (host country)
Qualified from Continental Championships: Egypt, Algeria, Libya (Africa), Japan, Iran, Qatar (Asia), Poland, Slovenia, France (Europe), the USA, Canada, Cuba (NORCECA), Argentina, Brazil, Colombia (South America)
Qualified from FIVB World Rankings: Germany, Serbia, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Belgium, Türkiye, Czechia, Bulgaria, Portugal, Finland, Tunisia, China, Romania, Chile, and Korea.
The draw for the 2025 men's Volleyball World Championships will be held in Manila, Philippines on September 14, 2024 at 11:30 GMT. The tournament itself will take place in the Philippines from September 12-28, 2025.
WOMEN'S TEAMS
Automatic Qualifiers: Serbia (defending champions) and Thailand (host country)
Qualified from Continental Championships: Kenya, Egypt, Cameroon (Africa), China, Japan, Vietnam (Asia), Türkiye, the Netherlands, Italy (Europe), the Dominican Republic, USA, Canada (NORCECA), Brazil, Argentina, Colombia (South America)
Qualified from FIVB World Rankings: Poland, Germany, Belgium, Czechia, Puerto Rico, Ukraine, France, Bulgaria, Cuba, Sweden, Mexico, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, and Greece
The women's volleyball championship however, holds from August 22 - September 7, 2025.
