Morocco produced an amazing performance to secure their third Afcon futsal title in front of their home crowd. The Atlas Lions claimed their third consecutive TotalEnergies CAF Futsal AFCON title by defeating the Sable Antelopes of Angola 5-1 in a thrilling final.
The match, held at a packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall, saw goals from Soufiane Borite, Bilal Bakkali, Anas El Ayyane, Idriss Raiss El Fenni, and captain Soufiane El Mesrar securing the victory for Morocco.
The hosts started strong with Borite's early goal, followed by an equalizer from Angola's Aderito Santo. However, Morocco dominated with goals from Raiss El Fenni and El Mesrar, sealing their win.
Additionally, Libya secured a spot in the FIFA Futsal World Cup by defeating Egypt 3-1 in penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Essam Ramadan initially gave The Pharaohs a 2-0 lead, but the Mediterranean Knights of Libya fought back with goals from Mohamed Said and Suhayb Alghoul, leading to a penalty shootout where Libyan keeper Mahmoud Abd Elwahab emerged as the hero, sending Libya to the World Cup in Uzbekistan.
Although Libya couldn't get the title, they'll be comforted that they secured a spot in the Futsal world championship.
