We bring you a list of teams and players who have made history in the National Basketball association (NBA).
In 2015-16 Golden State Warriors had a remarkable season, starting with a 24-0 record and maintaining a strong 48-4 record at the All-Star break. This performance indicated that they were on track to challenge the NBA's regular-season win record. They secured their place in history by finishing with an unprecedented 73-9 record after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104 in the final game of the season. Stephen Curry earned his second NBA MVP award, and Steve Kerr, a former player on the 1995-96 Bulls team that won 72 games in the 1995-96 season, was honored as the NBA Coach of the Year.
2. ONE OF THE GREATEST COMEBACKS- CAVALIERS VS WARRIORS
In the history of the sport, only 13 teams have managed to come back in the playoffs after trailing 3-1 but only one team did it in the NBA finals. Being one of the most notable comebacks, perhaps the most impressive and impactful, was orchestrated by LeBron James at the expense of Curry and the Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals. Despite the Warriors team taking a commanding 3-1 series lead, LeBron's extraordinary performance led to a stunning turnaround. This win secured a championship for the Cleveland Cavaliers but denied Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and the rest of the Warriors the opportunity to be crowned the greatest team in NBA history after winning a record 73 wins in the same season.
LeBron James now plays with the Los Angeles Lakers while all three players highlighted above are still on the Warriors' team.
3. LEBRON JAMES- LEADING SCORER IN NBA HISTORY
American professional basketball player and Los Angeles Lakers power forward LeBron James has scored the most career regular season points in NBA history. He is the youngest to reach every career point milestone from 1,000 to 38,000 and is the only player to surpass the 39,000 and 40,000 career points. Second to him is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who has 38,387 points.
4. STEPHEN CURRY- THREE-POINT KING
Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry surpassed Ray Allen 2973 on December 14, 2021 to become the all-time leader in three-pointers.
He has made the most 3-point field goals in NBA history, having held the all-time record for almost 3 years. Ray Allen now comes in second place with 2973 points while Steph Curry leads with 3735 points to his name.
In a recent game against the Phoenix Suns, where the Los Angeles Clippers won 105-92, Westbrook had another triple double, ending the game with 16 points, 15 assists and 15 rebounds.
