The Stephen vs Sabrina Three-Point Rivalry
Following the conclusion of the 3-Point Contest, Warriors' guard Stephen Curry and Liberty's guard Sabrina Ionescu will engage in a one-on-one matchup in the inaugural NBA vs. WNBA 3-Point Challenge.
The idea hatched soon after Ionescu won the 2023 WNBA All-Star 3-point shootout, scoring 37 points on 25-of-27 shooting — the most in WNBA or NBA history, surpassing Curry’s contest record of 31. The two already had a friendship, and now, a contest!!!
It’s something Ionescu called “a pinch-me moment” and Curry described as “uncharted territory.”
Stephen Curry said “This is what sports is about, competing … you look for opportunities to raise the bar,”
This contest will adhere to the standard 3-Point Contest rules, except for one difference: Curry will shoot from the NBA 3-point line using NBA basketballs, while Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line using WNBA basketballs.
WHAT AN INCREDIBLE MATCH UP IN BASKETBALL.
